How Red Rookie Redemptions Work

A complete guide to Red Rookie redemption processes across baseball, basketball, and football programs.

Quick Overview

Red Rookie redemptions work differently depending on the program. Each one offers collectors opportunities to earn rewards when their rookies achieve career milestones.

⚾ Bowman Red RC Baseball & 🏀 Basketball

Redeem through Fanatics Collect app or website. Earn FanCash rewards (up to $1,250) when players win ROY, MVP, or reach Hall of Fame.

🏈 NFL MVP Buyback (Matthew Stafford)

Redeem at 922+ participating hobby shops or mail-in partners. Receive instant store credit (up to $200) for eligible cards.

Bowman Red RC Baseball & Basketball (Fanatics Collect)

Step 1: Purchase Your Red RC Card

Baseball: Hunt for Red RC cards in 2026 Bowman products (launches May 13th—2025 redemption window has ended). Basketball: Find Red RC cards in 2025-26 Bowman Basketball packs. Locate eligible Red RC cards at retailers or on the secondary market.

Tip: Check our checklists to see which players are eligible for ROY redemption.

Step 2: Download Fanatics Collect App

Download the Fanatics Collect app or visit fanaticscollect.com. Create an account or log in.

Step 3: Submit Your Red RC Card

Use the app to submit your Red RC card details. You can submit immediately after purchase.

Step 4: Follow Your Player & Wait for Milestones

Track your player's career throughout the season. Once they win ROY, MVP, or reach Hall of Fame, your FanCash rewards unlock:

Rookie of the Year: $200 FanCash

1X MVP Award: $500 FanCash

2X MVP Award: $750 FanCash

3X MVP Award: $1,000 FanCash

Hall of Fame Induction: $1,250 FanCash

Key Rule: You can only redeem once per card, but you can hold and watch for higher tiers (e.g., wait for MVP instead of taking ROY payout).

Step 5: Redeem & Use FanCash

Once your player reaches a milestone, redeem your card for FanCash through Fanatics Collect. Use it across the Fanatics ecosystem:

  • • Shop cards and collectibles at Topps & Fanatics Collect
  • • Buy sports apparel and memorabilia
  • • Use for Fanatics Sportsbook bets
  • • Purchase live event tickets
